Logo Design for an Aerospace Lab

 The Brief: 

An aerospace engineering lab from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute reached out with a request- a logo that represented them, was distinctive, and usable on mediums from t-shirts to powerpoints.

Our Design: 

This lab focused heavily on the math of aerospace, and these two intrinsically connected disciplines called for a logo that equally represented both aspects. After understanding the work of the lab further and after many conversations with the professor who runs the lab, we saw how important graphing was to the calculus of aerospace. We looked into aircraft that the ACE lab worked with, and the distinctive lines of the SR-71 Blackbird was something that stuck with us throughout the design process. 

In the end, a marriage of these two motifs created a logo that wholly represented ACE Lab and its strong bond to both aerospace and mathematics.
