The Brief:
The India Society of Worcester organized a second fundraising gala at a premier venue. After executing a unique souvenir two years ago our goal wasn't "unique-er"- it was to reinvent the brochure while echoing its motifs to build a distinctive brand.
Our Design:
The colors and fonts of the previous brochure echoed the vibrancy of a modern India. This year, we went back in time. The royal era of India, with the jewel tones of rich silk and gilded finishes inspired the design language for the souvenir. The original motif design stayed consistent, the foundation for the brand design of an ever-growing organization.
Features of our design:
Laser-cut sleeve : After seeing how prominent and striking the lattice motif was, we used the exact lattice pattern and placed it in panels in the shape of a traditional royal Indian door.
Hand-painted gold sleeve: After the last souvenir's distinctive orange color, we decided on another color viscerally connected to India- gold. For the ISW's last gala to pay off a major project, gold connoted the distinction ISW and all of its members had achieved.
Personalization by name: Rather than mass-producing brochures, we decided to make every brochure personalized. A major part of ISW's brand is the sense of community they cultivate, and making every member feel special. Individually thanking and acknowledging each and every attendee through our designs was paramount.
Not only did our design have to convey the brand of the organization, so did the delivery of the product. With over 250 attendees, it was extremely important that each and every one felt as recognized and special as the next. Through extensive communication with event organizers, brochures were organized and packaged by name and table, so come time for the set-up, organizers would be able to place brochures as efficiently as possible.
Souvenir as centerpiece: With distinctive micro-easels, each souvenir became part of the centerpiece.
